Supervision Skills Training 

The emphasis of the course is to provide you with knowledge and skills that you can use in supervision upon returning to work.Over the two days we will cover both the theory and practice of this supervision model. The presentation of the course will be a mixture of group discussion, live demonstration and skills practice and I will furnish all necessary equipment and resources/handouts.

The training we will be doing is based on their books Making the Most of Supervision in Health and Social Care and Staff Supervision in Social Care: Making a Real Difference for Staff and Service Users.

Course Duration: 2 Days (9.30 am to 4.30 pm with 45 min lunch & two 15 breaks)

Course Description:

Course Content:
The training will be structured in three main parts. The first part will centre on help you to reflect on your own supervision history and how that has influenced how you are in supervision. The second part of the training will centre on the theory of the Morrison/Knapman model of supervision and will give you a structure to follow in supervision meetings. The third part of the training will focus on the skills that are required conduct a supervision meeting using this model.

Learning Outcomes:
As I outlined above, the purpose of all three parts of the course is to equip you with skills that you can use in supervision meetings upon returning to work. To this end I encourage you to discuss real examples of what you have experienced in supervision as a supervisee or as a supervisor.
