The course aims to provide you and your organisation with;

  •  History of Cocaine.
  • Current worldwide trends an Irish situation. 
  • Who is using Cocaine. 
  • Types of Cocaine. 
  • How Cocaine works
  • Health and psychiatric implications.
  • Harm reduction

Learning Outcomes:
This course aims to

  • Increase knowledge and awareness of the issues relating to Cocaine use.
  • Increase knowledge of how Cocaine is used and the effects upon individual’s physiology and neurology.
  • Understand the possible affects on health.
  • Increase confidence in working with this client group.
  • Increase competence in working with this client group.

Trainer Profile:
Neil Wilson, Education Support Worker employed by AIDS West, a post funded by the Western Region Drug and Alcohol Task Force. Neil provides education and training to groups and agencies in Galway City and County. Neil also delivers holistic drug and alcohol education/prevention programmes to parents, professionals, organisation, young people, ethnic minorities, at-risk groups and communities where a need has been identified.

A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded on completion of the training
