SAOR Train the Trainer 2017

After a successful roll out of the SAOR Train the Trainer Programme in 2015/16 the WRDATF is running a new Train the Trainer Programme in 2017/18. 10 Individual from organisations across the region where trained as SAOR Trainers in the first programme and are now delivering SAOR Training in the west. In 2017 10/12 more individuals will be trained to continue and expand this roll out.

Criteria for becoming a SAOR Trainer:

  • Applicants should have experience working as a clinician or an educator in the health or social care field and be willing to work from a harm reduction perspective.

Applicants must have completed the following:

  • Motivational Interviewing Level 1 (Since 2013)
  • Motivational Interviewing Level 2 (Since 2013)
  • SAOR: Brief Intervention for Alcohol Use (1 Day course)

Applicants must also:

  • Have group facilitation skills
  • Agree to deliver 2 SAOR Trainings in 2018/19
  • Participate in Trainers Forum & Evaluations
