Vacancy for a seat on the board of Directors for the Western Region Drugs & Alcohol Task Force

The Western Region Drugs and Alcohol Task Force is a registered Charity CHY18126. It is a company limited by guarantee.

The Western Region Drug and Alcohol Task Force was set up in 2003 as part of the Government’s efforts to address drug issues in Ireland. We are part of a national network of 24 Regional and Local Task Forces across the country that are funded by the Department of Health, through the Health Service Executive (HSE). Under the National Drugs Strategy, 2017-2025, Task Forces “play a key role in coordinating interagency action at local-level and supporting evidence-based approaches to problem substance use, including alcohol and illegal drugs”.

An exciting new opportunity to fill the role of board of directors member has arisen and we are seeking a volunteer to contribute their skills and experience to join an existing dedicated Board of 3 directors.

We want to expand our Board in order to build on our current board expertise skill-set, as the WRDATF enters into a new and exciting phase of growth and opportunity. We are particularly seeking individuals who have governance and HR experience for this position.

The WRDATF welcomes applications from enthusiastic individuals with a passion for the issues of Drugs and Alcohol. This is a voluntary position: The WRADTF meets all relevant travel and subsistence costs for Board member’s but Board positions are not remunerated.
